Galeria Nova Ogiva, Óbidos

The gallery is the only space in Óbidos dedicated to contemporary art

This gallery is Obidos’ only space dedicated to modern times. It was created in 1970 to present contemporary art exhibitions and cultural events, and although it lasted for only three years after that, it reopened over thirty years later, in 2005. It’s curated by the town’s museums department, and is the place to see works (paintings, sketches, photography and video installations) from prominent local and national artists. During the annual Literary Village festival, you may find specially-themed books and related cultural events.

It’s found on Obidos’ main street, it’s free, and opens every day except Tuesdays, from 10am to 1pm, and from 4pm to 6pm.
